45 Talmidim of the Oholei Torah Mechina undertook to learn a whole Mesechta by heart and were tested B’vas Achas – all at one time – by Rabbi Gavriel Zinner of Boro Park.
They learned Meseches Makkos and got tested on each Daf baal peh, for the past year in Yeshivah,
On Yud Alef Sivan, they went to Boro Park and Rabbi Zinner asked the Talmidim many questions, encompassing the entire Mesechte from beginning to end.
He was very impressed by the way the Talmidim answered. In fact, some of the students answered a very deep and detailed question so clearly that Rabbi Zinner said that they will grow to be Lamdanim in learning.
Rabbi Zinner pointed out that this project of the Talmidim learning Gemara Baal Peh and knowing it so well is a great Z’chus for Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm, a”h, Menahel Mesivta Oholei Torah, as he started this project, motivating the bochurim to keep learning more and more.
Rabbi Zinner received a Kuntras Haarois Ubiurim that the Talmidim prepared this year, and told the talmidim that this is a very big nachas to the Rebbe, he concluded with a bracha, that coming from Mattan Torah they should continue the Koch in Limmud Hatorah.
