Montrealers Gather for Central Kinus Torah

Following the Rebbe’s directive to hold a Kinus Torah after Yom Tov, Anash and bochurim in Montreal gathered at the Yagdil Torah center for a wide array of shiurim on interesting topics.

Following the Rebbe’s directive to hold a Kinus Torah on Isru Chag Shavuos and the following days, Anash, bochurim, and many residents of the city gathered for a central Torah gathering organized by Yagdil Torah in Montreal. The event took place on Sunday, 9 Sivan.

The gathering was skillfully led by Rabbi Shmuel Shuchat, the head of the Yagdil Torah kollel, who invited Rabbi Avraham Ben-Shimon, the head of the kollel in the city, to speak on the topic of “The Parameters of Takanos Drabonon.”

He was followed by Rabbi Moshe Nosson Fisher, a Maggid Shiur at Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim and Mesivta Ateres Menachem, who spoke on “The Importance of Kavod Habriyos in Halacha.”

Next, Rabbi Raphael Ben-Shimchon, a maggid shiur at Mesivta Reishis Chochmah, addressed the topic of “Receiving the Torah with Joy.”

Following him, Rabbi Shmuel Weiss, the shliach at the Chabad House in downtown and McGill University, discussed “Women and Sefiras HaOmer.”

Lastly, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gottlieb spoke on “Learning During Krias HaTorah.”
