If these part time support Shlichus opportunities will be recognized, that's wonderful.

Regarding those who are invested in the Shlichus of Chinuch in Crown Heights: Yes, the Rebbe had them included in the Sefer Hashluchim. Which should indicate that they are considered Shluchim and deserve the same recognition and support.

Unfortunately, that is not the current reality. Although there is no doubt how the Rebbe perceives their mesirus nefesh, the mechanchim and mechanchos of Crown Heights are not included in the kinus (the men are sometimes invited to the banquet if space allows) and in the rest of the network of support offered to Shluchim, financial or otherwise.

All the positions in this article will all be easily recognized by the regional Shliach and Merkos.

To the "problem" in this comment:
Both the Sefer Hashluchim and the Kinus Hashluchim includ(ed) all those who worked in Mosdos Chinuch regardless of location. There was the exception of the Kutres V'shavti Beshalom that the Rebbe only gave to those out of town - including those who worked in Chinuch.
Where exactly do those who work in Chinuch in recognized Mosdos Chabad of Crown Heights fall short of being "official" Shluchim?

This series of articles is a breath of a fresh air in that instead of grievances and judgment it presents practical solutions for how couples can actually create a Shlichus for themselves. Hopefully many will take heed and implement these ideas!

At the same time, it is important to note and address the reasons couples hesitate to pursue Shlichus in this manner - which is the same reason many prefer "out of town Shlichus" over the field of Chinuch - which, inarguably, is a key part of the Rebbe's mandate to invest one's efforts in the dissemination of Yiddishkeit.

Shallow as it may sound, it's a big one: people want the satisfaction, validation and honor of being "considered an official Shliach". There is a pervasive sense that if one is already having mesiras nefesh, devoting one's life to the Rebbe's mission with all the hardship, financial and otherwise, that entails - at least they should get that recognition.

Should a chossid be able to rise above that feeling and do his or her Shlichus lishma? Of course. But let's be honest: most are not holding at that level of bittul. And in order to solve the dual crisis where so many young couples are unsuccessfully looking for Shlichus, and meanwhile there are widespread shortages of staff and resources within mosdos of all types - we can't ignore this issue.

I don't know what the solution is, but it needs to be addressed.
