The mashal is not comparable. It is unlikely that one will know which area of Torah will get rid of a headache, but it's not impossible to find outright guidance in Torah for marriage, child raising and emotional questions.

A more accurate mashal would be what the Alter Rebbe writes in his hakdama to Tanya that most cannot find personal direction from sifrei mussar.

Well, besides the chassidic tradition that Tanya came to address that, the simple solution mentioned by the Alter Rebbe there is to consult with a living teacher who will guide you to your personal solution.

BH, unlike some try to suggest, there are plenty of worthy rabbonim and mashpiim today. You just need to look for someone who is real, not necessarily popular.

What's your name?
When and where did the rebbe tell you this? What was the context and wording?
Please clarify!

See these letters. for example, In the letter regarding confusion of gender identity the Rebbe writes “ it would be advisable that you should talk things over with a Torah-observant psychologist.” and there are other examples. https://www.chabad.org/therebbe/letters/default_cdo/aid/2308541/jewish/Chapter-5-Specific-Treatments-and-Approaches-To-Mental-Health-Issues-and-Problems.htm

In reply to <a href="https://anash.org/therapy-does-have-a-place/#comment-24143">a source</a>.

Learning the Rebbe Rashab’s Maimer Heichaltzu, which is based on the Chassidus of Rabbeim before him, as I’m doing now, I can see that the Rebbe likely discussed the pre existing Torahs Chassidus concepts that later are so compelling as concepts Freud adopted about the human psyche and emotions. However, that, predated knowledge of the Rabbeim is G-d centered truth. That of Freud resonates with people (it’s adapted from Torah) but it’s been corrupted to be self centered and pessimistic.

Freudian psychology is overall not kosher. It’s also not effective for conditions and trauma recovery that people do need to see therapists for such as PTSD, OCD, addiction, overcoming experiences of abuse and eating disorders. There are modalities (yes sometimes developed in universities with Hashem’s brocha) that are not Freudian based and are hoshgafa free. They can be keilim for refuah with Hashem’s brochas.

Part of the success is consulting das Torah about seeing the practitioner and using that modality; and keeping in touch with the Rav. It has to always be a practitioner who can honor the patient’s faith as important in healing. A Mashpia can then help a Mushpa who is getting professional help in the way that mashpias are empowered to be uniquely helpful, tapping into the ruchnius truths and the mushpa’s particular strengths and journey. It’s part of the Rebbe’s system.

The Rebbe supported my decision to provide (university-taught) therapy to persons diagnosed with PTSD.

Has the report of the Rebbe Rashab visiting a psychotherapist in Vienna in 1902 been proven false?

But please add sources:
"The Rebbe approved multiple people to pursue therapy, and gave certain instructions on how it should be done."
Where?
"One answer, mentioned by the Rebbe, is that we don’t know which part of Torah brings healing to this specific disease."
Where?

Too many people quote the Rebbe without writing sources. If you want readers to trust you, please write sources.
