Eldest of the Shluchim – Reb Zalman Kazen

Today marks the 10th yahrtzeit of shliach Reb Zalman Kazen, who dedicated his life to fellow Yidden in Soviet Russia, Paris, and for 50 years in Cleveland, OH. He was 93 years old when he passed away in 5771/2011.

Over 1,000 young Jewish professionals will visit the Ohel this Sunday between 1–4 PM as the finale of the largest CYP Encounter Shabbaton yet – expect heavy traffic on Kingston Ave at 10 AM and long lines at the Ohel throughout the afternoon.
This coming Sunday, 29 Teves, a Siyum Sefer Torah honoring R’ Sholom Rosenblum AH will take place in Crown Heights, with the new Torah being brought to the K'sav Sofer Shul.

After more than 40 years, the bookcases that held the Rebbe’s maamorim are being replaced with brand-new ones, with a section of the wall now allocated for Hatzalah storage. This follows the replacement of the Likkutei Sichos bookshelves several weeks ago.

Chabad of Bondi will be hosting a large-scale Shloshim memorial event in memory of the 15 victims of the Chanukah massacre, which tragically included two of Chabad Bondi’s shluchim as well as many of the community’s pillars of support, HYD.
