I was defrauded by this individual twice — once about two years ago, and again in November 2025. He introduced himself under the name Edan and requested money via PayPal (daveyostrow@gmail.com
) and Revolut (@emilyschulert).

On the most recent occasion, he claimed to have recovered from alcoholism and said he was now helping others on a similar path, asking whether I might refer people in need of support.

He is highly convincing, frequently using religious language and common Hebrew expressions (e.g. Baruch Hashem), and presents himself in a very polished, familiar manner. He appears to keep detailed records of past conversations, as he recalls previous interactions and the “help” he claims to have received, which creates a false sense of trust and continuity.

I just got called. Scammed me out of 180$. He told me he is doing addiction counseling, and he needed it to help this client who couldn’t afford to pay. He scammed me in 2022. I gave him some money then as well. He told me on the phone that he’s currently living in Pensacola, Florida.

He called me today. I am a Christian who is on a WhatsApp group of a local Jewish spoken word artist. He was spouting all kinds of Hebrew. I explained that I was gentile, but a big supporter of Israel and the Jewish people. I promised to send money. After I hung up I googled his name and found out about his scam. He called me from the same Nevada number you list.

I have an orphanage in Jerusalem we take care of disowned Hasidic youth who go off the Derech. He had me going for a few months sending him funds until I realized he didn’t have a rabbi to vouch for him. I even had other people help him out – oyyy. He needs to heal and surrender.

Called me right before shabbos from +1 (775) 528-0011 but was aware of him. I believe he makes a living off of this scam. He has a YouTube channel where he literally talks crazy crazy stuff. He talks about stealing from Jews and it’s part of his belief.

He called me once saying he got my number because we were both members of the Rabbi Wagner Toronto Alumni group. I said “Oh really? When were you a bochur in Toronto?” And he stuttered and couldn’t answer right away so I know he was a faker.
