A full cow’s hide is usually just over 2 meters (although it’s possible the 2m measurement here includes the case, meaning the actual scroll is slightly smaller).

Interesting to note that the קולמוס the sofer is using here is carved out of a wooden recorder…

Difficult to see in picture, but the gate seems to be a Tefach away from wall, and so a Mezuzah (not this one… due to height issues) should be affixed to the gate instead.

1) Yes, obviously, a mezuzah is needed on such a door, it has a clear צורת הפתח with a משקוף (lintel) and two doorposts. There is no reason why this door would not be chayav in mezuzah.

2) Poskim have already clarified when the question rose about the Ben Gurion mezuzah – in such circumstances, as long as the mezuzah starts off in the top third, it is kosher.
