The author talks about bitul but wants people to be just like him. Maybe the person who described himself as a chassidic foodie sees food as a way of expressing one's love for Hashem by appreciating the food Hashem makes and does tzedakah by giving business to kosher establishments. Let's judge everyone for the best.

Thank you, very well said.

Reb Yoel often says how even a chosid will sometimes be angry at someone for insulting him, despite Chassidus talking so much against "yeshus" and "gaiva." But the next morning he will regret it. Whereas someone who doesn't apply Chassidus to his life may continue to hold a grudge, as he thinks that he is indeed choshuv and how dare someone to insult him etc.

It is okay for a chossid not to be at the highest madreiga, but if we make a new "shito", and exalt those things that are we are not supposed to do, then we will never even work towards the right goals.

Great point.

It is sad to see the variety of non-Chasidic behaviors being celebrated as Chasidic. I saw an article recently about a “Chasidic tailor” who is passionate about fashion.

There is a lot of confusion today about the Chasidic approach to worldliness, so thanks for bringing up this subject.
