To clarify this article is a reprint from 4 years ago. Respectfully of course.

After reading the article with great interests details of many included. Comes to thought about the Rebbes Teffilin. As the article states the Rebbe gave him his Teffilin to check. Just the thought of it gives me chills.
The actual Teffilin the Rebbe uses every weekday is in his hands. The zechus the honor the privilege the Rebbe bestowed upon him.
There were many Sofrim in CH. The Rebbe only chose him. Says world filled of praise and compliments to him. Indeed what an amazing Yiras Shomayim he was.

At the same time extremely practical down to earth honest thoughtful to others.
His humer was par excellence. As a Chaver with one of his sons not living in crown heights. I was invited on Yom Tov’s and many Shabbosim to join the family. Filled with Yiddishkeit chassishkiet and aidelkiet. An amazing man who built up an amazing family.

If I may as a מילתא דבדיכותא.
Once when I was there one Shabbos there was an older Bochur 40+ (name withheld purposely as many know him) who had issues personal problem etc. wasn’t shayich to much. He came in to Rabbi E Zirkind requested a Brocho for a Shidduch a Kallah. Rabbi Zirkind gave him a Brocho and with a known kindest winkle in his eye said-asked…. Have you ever considered the possibility that your shviger didn't have any daughters? So on point but not to embarrass him, which I’m sure he didn’t understand.
תנצבה ונזכה לראותו ביחד עם משיח נאו

My name is Y. Landy living in Israel. I am a nephew of Rabbi E. Zirkind. I was privileged that he wrote my Tefillin and also did the batim. Today, I decided to Google his name and found this article, wonderfully written and eye opening. I just noticed that today is the 25 of Sivan which happens to be his Yahrzeit. May his neshamah and that of his wife have an aliyah.

I'll never forget the time I bought a new suit and went into 770 to ask how to get to the place that checked for Shatnas. Rabbi Zirkind was there and started to laugh. I asked what was so funny. He said that they only check under the coller. How do you know there is no shatnas anywhere else? I asked him what he does. He said that he made his own clothes, so he knew there wasn't any shatnas!!! I also remember that on Shabbas Mevorchim when us bochurim would come from Tifferes Bochurim in Morristown to stay in Crown Heights, Rabbi Zirkind would stand with us "newcomers" who didn't understand Yiddush during the Rebbe's frabringens and say over what the Rebbe had said in English between sichas when the Rebbe would make lachaims to people. He would say as much as he could, then stop to hear the Rebbes next sicha. When the Rebbe stopped again, Rabbi Zirkind would continue his translation FROM WHERE HE HAD LEFT OFF before the Rebbe's new sicha... This continually amazed me, this ability to remain so concentrated! Yhi Zichro Baruch!!!

Thank you.
So heartwarming and reminding me of all the times I spent at their home. As I was bachur in Morristown 1979-1982 , I was privileged to be at their home countless times. It was sort of a like a dormatory for us bachurim on Shabbos and motzei Shabbos. Sleeping and meals by them whenever I came to crown heights. He was very humorous as well and always made us feel comfortable. He should be a melitz yosher for his family amongst klal yisroel. His neshama should have an aliya and we should see him very very soon with the Geula Shalima.

Clarification:
Concerning the identity of the Spinka Rebbe who was a guest at my parent's home when I was a child I verified (since the original article was written) that it was not Rabbi Nafali Tzvi Weisz Shlit"a it was one of the other ones but it's to pinpoint which one.
