A beautiful and modern new building was dedicated for Yeshivas Tze’irei Hashluchim in Tzfas, in an impressive ceremony attended by local dignitaries, rabbonim and the yeshiva faculty.

The new building, which includes a magnificent and spacious bais medrash, classrooms and a spacious mikvah, will serve the students of the Yeshiva, which is geared for young shluchim from across the world. The older buildings on the campus underwent an extensive renovation as well.

Dedicated in memory of philanthropist R’ Shlomo Philipson, the building was named ‘Beit Shlomo’ in his honor. His two sons flew into Eretz Yisroel specially for the dedication, and were honored with unveiling the name on the building, along with the yeshiva’s director Rabbi Chaim Kaplan and Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zalman Kaplan.

Honored with cutting the ribbon were Tzfas Mayor Shuki Ohana, and the mezuzah affixed by the rov of the Tzfas Chabad community Rabbi Mordechai Bistritzky. The yeshiva students and guests entered the new bais medrash for maariv, on the yartzeit of R’ Shlomo, the building’s namesake.

Later in the evening, a siyum Mishnayos was held in the zchus of R’ Shlomo, with a student representative completing each of the six sedorim: Seder Zeraim – Menachem Mendel Mendelsohn of Vienna, Austria; Seder Moed – Kehos Litvin of Louisville, Kentucky; Seder Nashim – Eliyahu Moshe Bogomilsky from Seattle, Washington; Seder Nezikin – Aharon Freundlich from Beijing, China; and Seder Kadshim – Levi Yitzhak Segal, from Sliema, Malta.

The siyum on Seder Tehoros and of the entire mishnayos was conducted by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zalman Kaplan. The mara d’asra Rabbi Bistritzky and the family representatives then shared words of Torah and blessings.

The guests then continued on to a seudas mitzvah and a joyous chassidishe farbrengen with the family, the yeshiva staff and the directors of the institutions, continuing late into the night.

The chanukas habayis of the new building is scheduled to take place in a couple of months, in proximity to Yud Aleph Nissan, the 120th birthday of the Rebbe.
