Mishkon is the division of The Jewish Board that provides community, home based and residential services to people with developmental disabilities and their families. We are looking for a behavior specialist to work in our residential division.
RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
The Behavior Specialist will design, implement and monitor the Behavior Management Programs, Instructional Goals and Valued Outcomes for all individuals using the Positive Approaches Paradigm.
As part of an interdisciplinary team the behavior specialist administers and interprets the clients’ cognitive, social/motivational and adaptive living skills. Working with a caseload of up to 35 individuals on a daily basis the behavior specialist assists in program development, collaborating with the psychiatrist on monitoring psychotropic medication in conjunction with replacement behaviors and fading plans as applicable. The behavior specialists trains and supervises the managers and milieu staff in implementation of behavior support plans and instruction goals and valued outcomes. The specialist is responsible for accurate data collection, summaries and documentation.
Master’s degree from a program in clinical and behavioral areas and training in assessment techniques and behavioral supports plan development, as well as, knowledge of ABA programs. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills . An ability to engage and collaborate with staff as well as to work independently, implement and follow through on projects in an organized manner. Data analysis and presentations skills and proficiency with relevant software. Prefer five years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, including those dually diagnosed.
