Throughout Gimmel Tammuz, close to 1,000 Chabad centers around the globe hosted a special online Gimmel Tammuz event for their communities, courtesy of Merkos Suite 302.

“Transform and Transcend” was a 90-minute video presentation, moderated by Rabbi Aryeh Weinstein, featuring videos of the Rebbe interspersed throughout the presentation, and talks by popular Israeli journalist and TV anchor Sivan Rahav Meir, former senator Joseph Lieberman, and Rabbi Yossi Jacobson. The presentation was customizable and distributed with marketing material, all free of charge, for shluchim to use during their local online events.

“We know that many shluchim want to connect their communities to the Rebbe on Gimmel Tammuz, and it takes a lot of work to arrange, especially to hear sought-after speakers,” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice-chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch. “This gave them access to a beautifully executed event that they could share with their communities.”

The event focused on the Rebbe’s message of personal, communal, and global transformation – Moshiach, and how to change the world, one must begin with his or herself. The talks were accompanied by musical interludes arranged exclusively for this event by music sensations Eli Marcus and Benny Friedman. Opening and closing thoughts shared by each local shliach were prepared by Rabbi Lazer Gurkow

“We enjoyed every minute,” wrote Jack and Melinda Simon of Parkland, Florida. “We are so grateful that we were invited to celebrate the Rebbe with you.” Another Florida participant wrote, “Wish I could have met the Rebbe but I guess I ‘meet’ him through all his emissaries like you! We continued to talk and express our feelings about the evening. It was a tremendous experience I think for all of us.”

“We are always looking for ways to bring the Rebbe to our community,” says Rabbi Shmuel Naparstek of Chabad of Jackson, NJ. “Not only in an inspiring way, but also, in a way that leads to practical application. The Transform and Transcend program was the perfect blend of authentic content, professional delivery and a call to action. There could not have been a more befitting way to mark Gimmel Tammuz.”
