Anyone who grew up in Sydney, will always remember Reb Meyer as one of the old time balebatim, founding members of the yeshivah community, together with Mr. Gestetner, Mr. Novak, Mr. Markowitz etc. all yiden who were very devoted to upholding real yidishkeit with no “pshoros” even in far off sydney.
If I am not mistaken, he also had a connection to Reb Itzikle of Pshvorsk when he in Siberia, and considered himself a pshevorsker chosid all his life.
All his children are Lubavitcher Chasidism.
He was extremely proud when his einkel Dovi married Kalyla Leiberman, great granddaughter of Reb Gedaliah Hertz.
