In those years the yechidusin by the Rebbe were usually arranged by the Rebbes Mazkir, Rabb Sholom Mendel Simpson a”h, perhaps that explains why his father Rabbi Eliyahu Simpson a”h was at the yechidus with the group, who was also a choizer by the Rebbe Rashab and a Gaby by the frierdike Rebbe.
